    Dear Parents/Guardians,

Please let me introduce myself.  My name is Lauren Reynolds and I live here in Camarillo with my wonderful husband, Chad, my 5 year old son, Jackson, and my 3 year old daughter, Hailey.  We also have two dogs, Ricky and Lucy (named after my favorite show, I Love Lucy).  I knew I wanted to be a teacher at a very young age because I have always had a passion for learning.  I've always loved sports and have played basketball from 4th grade all through college.  I attended California Lutheran University, where I recieved my Masters in Education, and fell in love with the small, community oriented campus.  I'm thrilled to be teaching at UPCS because I think we have a wonderful set of staff and students.

I love to emphasize teamwork in my classroom because it is such a useful life skill.   Teaching students how to successfully communicate and collaborate with one another is something I am very passionate about.  I also think it is very important for kids to learn that they can achieve whatever they set their minds to with hard work and dedication.

My goal is to create interesting and meaningful lessons that teach kids to investigate, evaluate and problem solve. It is also a goal of mine to make sure parents play an active role in their child's eduction.  I encourage all parents to reach out, ask questions and take advantage of the many opportunities there will be to come volunteer in the classroom.

We will be utilizing a lot of technology in the classroom this year.  Programs such as Achieve3000, Google Classroom and Khan Academy, just to name a few.  I encourage students to bring their own set of earbuds as quick access to a listening device will be very helpful.  We do have a set of headphones available if needed.

Again, I really look forward to the start of a new school year at a new campus!  I know that if we work together, this year will be a great success!

    Sincerely,

    Lauren Reynolds
