Welcome back to a brand new school year at the new University Preparation Charter School!
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be your child’s Fourth Grade teacher. After co-teaching with Mrs. Johnston, being the Leadership Specialist over at the middle school, working in the Learning Center, teaching both middle school and elementary P.E., and teaching fifth grade last year, I am looking forward to working alongside you and your family to make this a year of growth and discoveryl.
Not long ago I received my Bachelor’s Degree and Teaching Credential from CSUCI. This will be my 5th year at UPCS . I am a diehard Los Angeles Clippers fan and love going to the movies.
Students in 4th grade have already begun to develop their individuality and begin looking forward to moving on up to 5th grade as well as the exciting transition to middle school. In fourth Grade students are pushed to work more independently and take responsibility for their own actions. Along with work with multiplication and division, students will learn place value, angle measures and plane figures, fraction equivalence, and decimal fractions. Students will continue to read to learn as they create research projects and become better writers. Science and Social Studies will continue to increase in complexity and students learn about the forming of the United States and participate in a lot of engaging scienctifc experiments. As friends become more important, students will continue to learn to value others and work together to complete tasks and activities. This year will be filled with work, but we plan to have some fun along the way. I am excited about getting to know each student and look forward to the challenging and rewarding year ahead!
