Welcome to our new school year! I want to introduce myself. My name is Melissa Cachú-Caro, but I prefer to be called Sra. Cachú. This summer I worked as a summer school teacher, went to the beach, read, and visited amusement parks. It was a busy and relaxing summer!
This is my fourteenth year at UPCS and my seventeenth year of teaching. I am thrilled to continue working at this amazing school. This year, I am honored to get to know a new group of students and watch their Spanish flourish over the next two years.
Some background on my education is that I received my bachelor's in Liberal Studies and one in Spanish at Azusa Pacific University. I then went on to get my teaching credential at our home school, CSUCI. I recently completed my Master's in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University.
I am very excited about working with you and your child this year!

Mrs. Muench
Hello! My name is Mrs. Muench (pronounced “Minch”)! I am excited to begin my fifth year teaching here at UPCS and my second year having Sra. Cachú as my wonderful partner-teacher. A little bit about me, my husband, Alex, my 6-year-old son, Hudson, 8-month-old daughter, Harlow, and I love to travel, go swimming, and attend sporting events.
A little background on me, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from CSU, Channel Islands. In addition, I worked as a Registered Behavioral Technician in the school setting for five years before getting my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Master’s in Education.
I look forward to working with you and getting to know your child. It will be an exciting year full of learning, growth, and support.
