Welcome to the 2018-2019 School Year
I am excited to begin my 6th year here at UPCS!
I am a southern California native, born and raised in Torrance, California. I spent 17 years of my adult life living in New England in both Connecticut and Massachusetts. While I loved living in the Northeast, I am very happy to be back in California, and love calling Port Hueneme my home!
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies, and my Master of Science degree in Special Education at Bay Path University in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. As a educator I also consider myself a life-long learner, because of this, I recently completed a Graduate Certificate program for Middle School Mathematics through Walden University.
Prior to moving back to California and teaching at UPCS, I had the opportunity to teach for 8 years in Springfield, Massachusetts. Over the past 14 years in the classroom I have taught grades K, 1, 2, 4, 5, and now middle school! I love what I do and consider it an honor and a priviledge to work in the classroom with students.
When I actually find myself with some free time I enjoy many activities including spending time with my family, going to Disneyland, traveling, reading a good book, enjoying the beach, or doing arts and crafts.
My goal as a math/science teacher is to create a meaningful, interactive, respectful, and fun learning environment where students can be curious, investigate, make mistakes, and experience great success while learning.
I am very excited for this new school year here on our Bedford Drive campus and hope you are too!
