    8th Grade Fundraising for
    June 2017 Magic Mountain Trip

Instead of going to the beach for the 8th grade trip this year, we have decided to send students to Magic Mountain for their trip. With the cost of the bus and entrance tickets, the cost comes out to about $60 per student. Therefore, we have put together some fundraisers to help with the cost. Each student is responsible for raising at least $60 each.

    See's Candy Bars
Students will be asked to volunteer to help sell See's Candy bars at after school functions. Parents may also purchase a box for $48 to sell to friends/family/coworkers. Each bar should be sold for $2 to recoup what you put out.

    Attention  Incoming
    7th  Grade  Parents!

All students entering 7th Grade must meet certain immunization requirements to be able to start school on the first day next fall. Letters of Exclusion have been mailed home to those students who have not yet shown proof of the Tdap vaccine. Most students have already had the vaccine and just need to bring a copy of the immunization record to the Middle School Office. Please review your child's immunization records ASAP.

    Common Core Standards

    commoncore

What kinds of things will my child learn in mathematics and English language arts in first grade? In high school? New brochures focused on the California Common Core State Standards for mathematics and English language arts/literacy (ELA) are now available to help teachers and other educators answer such questions from parents, guardians, and other community members.

The brochures are organized by grade span and provide insights into what students will be learning:

    Mathematics
    Kindergarten through grade two
    Grades three through five
    Grades six through eight

    Study Spot

    studying

Study Spot is a great place to go to work on schoolwork and get help from a teacher.  Study Spot is Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school in Rm. A1, and everyday at lunch in Rm. A3. For lunch time study spot, students must arrive within 10 minutes of being dismissed from the lunch tables, or you will not be allowed to enter.
